Featherdale is one of Sydney's best-loved wildlife parks, home to one of the largest collections of Australian native animals in the country. Kids can hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies that roam the walkways, get up close to koalas, and meet wombats, echidnas, reptiles and dozens of bird species. During school holidays the park runs extra keeper talks and animal encounters timed through the day, so there is always something happening. It is an easy half-day out in Sydney's west, with shaded areas and a cafe for when little legs need a break.
