๐ Elizabeth Farm, 70 Alice St, Rosehill NSW 2142
Elizabeth Farm in Parramatta is one of Australia's oldest surviving homesteads, built by the Macarthur family in the early colonial era. Unusually it is a hands-on house museum, where children are encouraged to touch, sit and play among the recreated interiors. School-holiday workshops add craft and history activities inspired by the property and its gardens. It is a relaxed, low-cost outing in Sydney's west with shaded grounds for a picnic.
