A living national monument set on 250 hectares of hills overlooking Canberra and Lake Burley Griffin, the National Arboretum contains 100 forests of rare and endangered trees from around the world. Free entry with a spectacular Pods playground (one of Australia's best) that kids adore. The Village Centre café offers great views. Excellent for picnics, kite flying, and leisurely walks through the diverse forest plantings. The Bonsai collection is fascinating for all ages.
