Housed in a stunning heritage building in Launceston's City Park, the Design Centre Tasmania showcases the best of Tasmanian craft and design — exquisite woodwork, glass, ceramics and jewellery. Entry to the gallery is free. School holiday workshops introduce kids to design concepts and hands-on making with local materials. The adjoining City Park is a beautiful public space with a Japanese macaque monkey enclosure, making this a natural double activity.
