Rising 1271m above Hobart, kunanyi / Mount Wellington is one of the most accessible alpine environments in Australia. The Pinnacle Road offers a scenic drive to the summit (no entry fee), where a sheltered lookout provides panoramic views over Hobart, the Derwent estuary and beyond. Multiple walking tracks descend back to Hobart through native bush. The Organ Pipes track is a spectacular short walk for older kids. Snow occasionally falls in winter — check conditions first.
