📍 Alec Fong Lim Dr, East Point NT 0820
Darwin was Australia's most bombed city during World War II — 64 Japanese air raids targeted the harbour and town between 1942 and 1943. The Darwin Military Museum at East Point tells this gripping story with an impressive collection of WWII aircraft, artillery, tanks, and personal artefacts. The museum features a memorial garden and offers guided tours that bring the wartime experience to life. A short film about the bombing raids is particularly powerful. Located at East Point Reserve with ocean views and grounds to explore. Good for school-age children interested in history. Open daily, modest entry fee. Ideal year-round as much of the display is indoors or under cover.
