The Museum and Art Gallery of the NT (MAGNT) is one of Darwin's best free days out. It houses an internationally significant collection of Aboriginal and Tiwi Islands art, fascinating natural history displays including the famous 'Sweetheart' — a 780kg saltwater crocodile — and the moving Cyclone Tracy gallery that lets visitors experience the devastating 1974 cyclone through sight and sound. Also features the HMAS Darwin shipwreck exhibit and marine galleries. Free entry for all permanent collections. Great for all ages and open daily. Located at Fannie Bay, just minutes from Darwin CBD.
