📍 Nature Park Rd, Howard Springs NT 0835
Howard Springs Nature Park is a beloved family destination about 30km from Darwin. The centrepiece is a natural freshwater swimming hole fed by a thermal spring, surrounded by monsoon forest. The water stays cool and clear even in the wet season, and the iconic fish feeding (you can buy food on-site) is a favourite with children — barramundi and saratoga dart to the surface. Shaded picnic shelters, barbecues, and change rooms make it ideal for an all-day family outing. Birds and wildlife can be spotted in the trees throughout the park. Free entry for most of the park; modest fee for the pool area. Best visited on weekdays during school holidays to avoid crowds.
