📍 Litchfield National Park NT 0822
Litchfield National Park is one of the most accessible and beloved natural attractions near Darwin, about 90 minutes south. Famous for its series of spectacular waterfalls with crystal-clear natural swimming holes — Wangi Falls, Florence Falls, Buley Rockhole — plus the extraordinary magnetic termite mounds that tower up to 2 metres tall. Most of the park can be visited in a day and entry is free. Dry season (May–October) is prime time: waterfalls are flowing, roads are open, and swimming is comfortable. Note: some areas may close in the wet season (November–April) due to flooding. Wangi Falls remains popular year-round. A must-do for NT families.
