The Nightcliff Ocean Pool is a free tidal rock pool on the Darwin foreshore at Nightcliff, offering safe seawater swimming protected from the open sea — and from sea stingers and crocodiles. The pool fills with clean seawater at high tide and is a favourite with Darwin families for its relaxed community atmosphere, grassy surrounds, and nearby playground. The foreshore path is also great for cycling and walking. Afternoons are particularly beautiful as the sun drops over the Timor Sea. Free entry, open daily. Note: the ocean pool is best at high tide; check tide times for the best swim. Suits all ages and is a genuinely lovely Darwin experience.
